You should schedule your initial newborn care visit with Dr. Bhalani soon after your baby’s birth, typically within a few days of your discharge from the hospital.

What happens during a newborn care visit?

During your initial newborn care visit at Cure With Care Pediatric, Dr. Bhalani spends time learning more about your baby’s general health, their family medical history, and your experiences during pregnancy, labor, and childbirth.

Dr. Bhalani completes a physical exam to check your child’s height, weight, heart rhythm, lung health, and other vital signs. He also assesses different aspects of your baby’s development, such as alertness, eye contact, and responsiveness to noises and light.

If your newborn has an existing health issue, such as diabetes, or develops a cold or infection, Dr. Bhalani can customize a care plan to keep your child healthy and symptom-free.

At follow-up visits, Dr. Bhalani provides immunizations that protect your baby from contagious diseases while their immune system is still developing. He monitors your baby’s growth during well-child visits to ensure they reach different developmental milestones.
