What are sick visits?

Sick visits are medical appointments you schedule when your child experiences unexplained pain or other symptoms requiring medical attention.

Cure With Care Pediatric offers same-day sick visits when possible, so you can avoid the stress of an emergency room visit. Dr. Bhalani can meet with you and your child in the office or online during a telemedicine visit.

When should I schedule sick visits?

You should schedule a sick visit if your child has pain or bleeding after an injury or if they experience persistent symptoms of an illness you can’t manage at home. These symptoms can include:

• Sore throat
• Runny nose
• Nasal congestion
• Skin rash
• Ear pain

Young children may also need urgent medical attention if they have persistent diarrhea or vomiting, which can lead to complications like dehydration.

What happens during sick visits?

During your child’s sick visit at Cure With Care Pediatric, Dr. Bhalani spends time reviewing their personal and family medical history. He also asks you about their symptoms and any treatments you’ve tried at home.

Dr. Bhalani completes a physical exam and may order lab tests like blood work, urine testing, or a mouth swab to identify bacterial or viral infections or underlying diseases. Based on the results of testing, he designs a treatment plan to ease your child’s symptoms, so they can start their recovery.

Your child may need a follow-up visit, so Dr. Bhalani can monitor their treatment. If diagnostic testing reveals a chronic health issue, such as diabetes, you can expect to schedule more frequent visits for additional testing and treatment.
